DHL Supply Chain has announced the acquisition of Inmar Supply Chain Solutions, a leading provider of returns solutions for the retail e-commerce industry.

This strategic move positions DHL as the largest provider of reverse logistics solutions in North America. The acquisition brings 14 return centers and approximately 800 associates into the DHL Supply Chain business, expanding its North American presence which already includes over 520 warehouses and 52,000 associates. Additionally, DHL will enhance its returns capabilities to incorporate product remarketing, recall management, and supply chain performance analytics.

With the rapid growth of e-commerce and evolving consumer behavior, efficient returns processes have become essential for retail customers. These expanded solutions will add significant value for DHL’s clients by offering holistic and strategic supply chain services. According to Oscar de Bok, Global CEO of DHL Supply Chain, the integration of Inmar’s returns services and talent will create an unmatched returns business in North America, driving long-term growth and excellence in logistics services.

Patrick Kelleher, CEO of DHL Supply Chain North America, emphasized the importance of simplifying supply chain strategies and enhancing operational agility. This acquisition strengthens DHL’s ability to provide comprehensive and integrated solutions, including critical returns management, thus streamlining operations and improving overall supply chain efficiency.

Furthermore, Kelleher highlighted that the returns market presents strategic growth opportunities, supporting DHL Group’s goal of achieving 50% revenue growth by 2030 as part of their Strategy 2030.

Spencer Baird, CEO of Inmar Intelligence, expressed confidence in DHL’s commitment to customer-focused innovation and the continued development of Inmar’s foundational supply chain solutions. The deal allows Inmar Intelligence to deepen its focus and investment in its core businesses.

The acquisition also aligns with DHL’s sustainability objectives, as Inmar’s technology-driven reverse logistics solutions are recognized for reducing costs and minimizing waste from returned consumer goods.
