New Facility Near Coventry Airport to Create 600 Jobs and Enhance Sustainable Logistics

DHL eCommerce has unveiled its latest parcel hub in the UK, a 25,000 m² facility located south of Coventry Airport. The hub is designed to bolster the growth of domestic and international e-commerce for UK businesses, creating up to 600 local jobs and significantly expanding DHL’s market share. This facility is part of DHL eCommerce’s €560 million investment in the UK, announced in 2022, aimed at increasing capacity and setting new standards in parcel automation.
The hub includes a 48-door cross-dock facility, secure bonded storage, and customs capabilities to facilitate international trade. Pablo Ciano, CEO of DHL eCommerce, emphasized the importance of the new hub, stating, “E-commerce in the UK is booming, and this facility ensures we are perfectly equipped to meet customer needs and support their growth. It’s a key step in optimizing our UK network to deliver reliable, affordable, and sustainable parcel services.”
Sustainability is a core focus of the project, with the site achieving BREEAM ‘Excellent’ status. Features include 7,000 m² of solar panels, LED lighting, and landscaping to protect natural biodiversity. Additionally, the hub is equipped with 120 EV charging points for cars and light goods vehicles (LGVs).

Stuart Hill, CEO of DHL eCommerce UK, highlighted the hub’s role in meeting growing e-commerce demand: “This investment reflects our confidence in British business and our commitment to innovation and sustainability. By expanding our capacity, we’re creating long-term jobs, growth opportunities for customers, and a blueprint for sustainable logistics.”
The new hub underscores DHL’s dedication to supporting the digital marketplace while advancing environmentally responsible practices.
