1,602 exhibitors from 42 countries will be presenting their products, solutions, innovations, and trends in electric automation for the first time in 14 exhibition halls. The exhibition area of SPS IPC Drives has thus increased to 117,800 sq m. The number of exhibitors from outside Germany is also set to reach a new, all-time high at 508. This brings the percentage of non-German exhibitors to 32 and underscores the international significance of the exhibition, where the top 5 nations with the greatest presence outside of Germany are Italy, China, Switzerland, Austria, and the USA.

Additional information offering at joint stands and exhibition forums

The exhibition forums of VDMA (German Engineering Federation) at booth 3-618 in hall 3 and of ZVEI (German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association) at booth 2-610 in hall 2 stand again for a top-class lecture program. Coordinated by associations and specialist publishers, 22 podium discussions, 59 product presentations, and discussion rounds on current topics affecting the industry will take place over three days and include such titles as “Industry 4.0: How will Mechanical Engineering profit thereof?” and “Industry 4.0 in Maintenance and Service”.

At the “AMA Centers for Sensors and Measurement” and “wireless in automation” joint stands in halls 4A and 10, respectively, visitors can acquire condensed information on relevant topics and discover targeted problem-solving approaches.

The conference, which is running concurrent to the exhibition, once again offers a full-featured program including two keynote speeches entitled “Big data” and “Unconventional drives with smart materials”, among other highlights. A new addition is the R&D talk, which is a podium discussion led by well-known representatives from the industrial automation technology sector. Guests taking part in the discussion are Dr. Thomas Bürger from Bosch Rexroth AG, Bernd Kärcher from Festo AG & Co. KG, Dr. Josef Papenfort from Beckhoff Automation GmbH, Dr. Johann Soder from SEW-EURODRIVE GmbH & Co. KG, and André Uhl from Schneider Electric Automation GmbH.

This year’s conference continues to be comprehensive in scope with a total of 48 speeches along with two keynotes (completely free of charge), a podium discussion, and the ceremony for presenting the Innovation Award of the automation industry.
